Urban Regeneration - Jubilee Quarter, Brighton

The Investors in the Community Programme master plan for the redevelopment of the Jubilee Quarter in Brighton has been hailed as an “exemplar of urban regeneration” by the Government’s Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.

The centrepiece, the Jubilee Library, has won numerous awards since its opening in 2005, including the prestigious Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award and the Observer Ethical Building of the Year Award.

“We knew that we could trust the people we worked with at Investors in the Community and in turn, they knew we were behind them.”

Housing - The Miles Platting Housing schemes

The Miles Platting Housing schemes entail the refurbishment and renewal of 1,600 properties in the East Manchester area – a regeneration partnership with Manchester City Council. The scheme has won two housing regeneration ‘Oscars’.

"To win these two national awards is a tremendous achievement which recognises the success of the apprentice training programme and the life-changing benefits it has brought about for so many of the young people involved."

Street Lighting - London Street Lighting

Through the Investors in the Community Programme, substantial investment has been made in street lighting, enhancing the quality and safety of the local environment. The Investors in the Community Programme provides comprehensive services and support to both public and private sector partners in the Street Lighting Sector.

“The start of this contract marks – quite literally – a bright future for local residents… Lambeth’s streets and green spaces are brighter, safer and more welcoming.”

Cllr. Andrew Sawdon, Executive Member for Community Safety and Regeneration, Lambeth Council

Education - Schools

A PFI scheme fully committed to working with Local Authorities and Central Government programmes to deliver the educational transformation agenda. Focus is on improving learning environments and to promote the wider use of school facilities within communities. The Programme strongly emphasises design and sustainability, exceeding the Government’s vision for modern education resources.

A combination of education experience and project delivery expertise has allowed our facilities to be finished on time and in line with the needs of staff, pupils, and the community.

Health – Hospitals

The Investors in the Community Programme is at the forefront of the modernisation of healthcare in the UK currently managing healthcare projects serving over 2.5 million patients seeking to produce facilities that are at the centre of the local community, providing patient-focused designs delivering improved clinical services.

The Ladies Walk Primary and Community Care Facility is an innovative example of this integrated approach to healthcare, combining a primary care centre with social services facilities and a library, which has been recognised by winning numerous awards. Pioneering projects have also included the delivery of a mental health hospital for County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust which has been commended for its modern approach placing the facility at the heart of the community.

“From the outset, Investors in the Community demonstrated it was prepared to work with us in a long-term partnership, which is vital in a contract that is going to last 28 years…”

Chris Parsons, Facilities Manager, County Durham NHS Trust.
